A peaceful suburban evening exploded into chaos when a speeding pickup truck lost control and careened into a homeowner’s driveway, violently crashing into a parked sedan — and missing the family dog by mere inches. The heart-stopping incident, caught entirely on a doorbell camera, is now under police investigation as neighbors call for stronger traffic enforcement in the area.
The footage begins calmly: a quiet sunset, still trees, and the soft glow of porch lights. Nothing appears out of the ordinary — until a pair of headlights suddenly streak across the frame, moving far faster than any vehicle should on a residential street.
Within less than a second, a blue pickup truck barrels around the corner, its tires skidding as it swerves out of control. The truck leaps the curb and shoots directly into the driveway, leaving no time for anyone nearby to react.
A Violent Impact Just Feet From the Home
The truck slams into a silver sedan parked in front of the house with tremendous force. The collision crumples the truck’s front end and shoves the sedan forward, pinning it against the house’s exterior wall. Debris scatters across the driveway as the impact sends shockwaves through the quiet neighborhood.
The crash is so loud that porch lights flicker and neighbors begin stepping outside within seconds, some shouting in alarm as they search for the source of the noise.
But what stunned viewers most wasn’t the crash itself — it was what happened in the split second beforehand.
A Miraculous Near-Miss for the Homeowner’s Dog
As the truck skids into the driveway, the homeowner’s dog is seen trotting across the same space — completely unaware of the oncoming danger.
For a terrifying moment, it appears the dog will be struck head-on.
But in what can only be described as a near-miraculous escape, the dog slips through a tiny gap between the out-of-control truck and the bumper of the parked car
at the exact instant of impact. The animal darts to the porch, emerging fully unharmed as the vehicles collide behind it.
Neighbors who rushed over reported seeing the dog shaken but physically fine, even wagging its tail as residents checked for injuries.
“That was the luckiest half-second of my life,” the homeowner said. “If my dog had crossed that driveway one moment earlier, I don’t even want to think about what could’ve happened.”
Driver Under Investigation for Speeding and Possible Impairment
Tulsa police responded to the scene shortly after the crash. Officers say the driver — who remained on-site and appeared disoriented but not seriously injured — may have been traveling at an unsafe speed when he lost control while navigating the residential curve.
Authorities confirmed that charges are likely, pending toxicology results and reconstruction of the crash.
“This neighborhood is not a racetrack,” said a Tulsa PD spokesperson. “Speeding through residential areas puts lives at risk — and this incident could have ended in tragedy.”
Residents Demand Action as Safety Concerns Rise
Neighbors have since shared concerns about frequent speeding on the same road, saying this crash was “only a matter of time.”
“I’ve seen cars fly down this street for years,” one resident said. “If a child had been playing in that driveway, this would’ve been a completely different story.”
The homeowner says he plans to install additional safety barriers near the driveway — and is grateful for the security camera that captured what could easily have been a fatal moment.
“As scary as it was,” he said, “we’re lucky beyond words.”
2 killed in wrong-way I-15 crash involving alleged DUI driver
SALT LAKE CITY — A young Utah couple heading to Idaho were killed early Saturday after being struck head-on by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 15 in Salt Lake City.
The Utah Highway Patrol said a driver was headed the wrong way in the northbound lanes on the highway at approximately 2 a.m. when he slammed into another vehicle near 2100 South.
Both occupants in the vehicle that was hit, Anneka Wilson and Leo Shepherd, both 18 years old, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, Jose Jimenez, suffered only minor injuries and has been arrested and faces two charges of automobile homicide, driving under the influence and wrong way driving, and violation of his learner’s permit.
Jimenez, 21, was driving on a learner’s permit at the time of the incident. Court documents state he admitted that he did not feel safe to be driving at the time.
Wilson and Shepherd were driving to Idaho to spend the remainder of the Thanksgiving weekend at her aunt’s farm.
The Wilson family said Anneka, who was from Springville, was about to graduate from high school and had her sights set on attending college and studying radiology.
“Words truly can’t explain the loss we are feeling. She was just a beautiful, young lady who wanted nothing more in her life then to help others, she loved being outdoors, riding horses,” said Anneka’s older brother, Hallister.
Anneka’s family said Shepherd was “such a great young man. He took good care of Anneka and made sure no matter what, he was there for her, he was respectful and would always help her with the things she needed.
Video shared with FOX News showed one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames immediately following the incident.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Lieutenant Brian Peterson, the southbound lanes of I-15 near the crash site were closed for several hours before they reopened just before 10 a.m.

“I’ve been a state trooper for almost ten years now. We’ve been on several very bad scenes; this one was horrific. It was one of the worst ones that I’ve personally seen,” he said. “While we were handling this crash, we had another wrong-way just up the road. Luckily, a trooper was able to stop that vehicle before it caused another crash.”
An arrest report for Jimenez had not yet been filed as early Saturday afternoon.
Wilson’s family is now left to mourn the deaths of Anneka and Shepherd, just days after the holiday.
“We’ve lost two beautiful young souls to yet another DUI and things need to change,” said Hallister.
A GoFundMe page has been created for Wilson’s family to help with funeral expenses.
Lt. Peterson said extra troopers will be on the roadway with additional staffing to be on the lookout for more DUI incidents.
“Don’t drink and drive. That’s the most basic, fundamental rule. Don’t drink and drive,” he said. “Whatever you do, just don’t get behind the wheel.”
RJ Shepherd, the order brother of Leo Shepherd has also released the following statement:
“Leo is my little brother, I would give everything to see him one more time. Leo loved his family and loved Anneka. Leo always brought smiles and laughter, he was great with his nieces and nephews. Leo liked to go hunting, fishing and everything outdoors. You could always find Leo helping with the sheep or helping around mom and dad’s house. Leo will forever be missed. It’s hard for me and my family but the best thing we can do is forgive and hope that Leo’s accident is a message to people that drink and drive. It’s not worth the pain that you cause people.”
